Delegation Cheat Code: Never Delegate What You EAT

👥 Three letters sort most delegation questions on the exam. Keep them for yourself, then match every other task to the stability of the client and the scope of the person you hand it to.

🧠 왜 중요한가요
RN은 먹을(EAT) 수 있는 것은 절대 위임하지 않는데, 평가(EVALUATE), 사정(ASSESS), 교육(TEACH)이에요. 여기에 간호 판단과 불안정한 환자와 관련된 모든 것을 더하면 그것이 RN의 목록이에요. 무면허 보조 인력(UAP)은 안정된 환자의 일상적이고 예측 가능한 업무를 하는데, 위생, 식사 보조, 보행, 체위 변경, 섭취량과 배설량, 안정된 환자의 활력징후이며, 그다음 발견한 것을 보고해요. The RN never delegates what she can EAT: EVALUATE, ASSESS, TEACH. Add nursing judgment and anything involving an unstable client, and that is the RN's list. Unlicensed assistive personnel do routine, predictable tasks for stable clients: hygiene, feeding, walking, turning, intake and output, and vital signs on stable clients, then they report what they found. LPNs care for stable clients with predictable outcomes, give most medications (IV push medications and starting blood transfusions are usually excluded by state law or facility policy), change sterile dressings and reinforce teaching the RN already gave. Client stability, together with the delegatee's scope of practice and competence, decides, not the simplicity of the task.

📋 'Take vital signs on the new chest-pain admission' is a simple task for an unstable client, so it stays with the RN. 'Walk Mr. Lee to the bathroom' is a simple task for a stable client, so it goes to the UAP. The task did not change; the client did.
